A consumer rights guide in Arabic

The Israel Consumer Council, in cooperation with the Association for Social Advancement in Haifa, recently published an Arabic-language guide to consumer rights.
Among the Arab population in Israel there is a vital need for information on consumer rights, with awareness of intelligent consumerism and consumer legislation being rather low.
The guide presents the principle rights in an easy-to-read, helpful manner, and may be obtained free of charge from the offices of the Consumer Council and from the offices of the Association for Social Advancement.
CEO of the Consumer Council, Adv. Ehud Peleg, says that, in this context, there is nothing that can take the place of consumers being aware of their rights, in order for them to be able to protect themselves against consumer wrongs. The Arab sector, Peleg adds, has so far had little exposure to this information, and so the Consumer Council, in cooperation with the Association for Social Advancement and other organizations within the sector, has made a pro-active attempt to reach out to this sector.
Executive director of the Association for Social Advancement, Mr. Hussein Ajabra, says that the cooperation between the Association and the Consumer Council draws attention to the importance of public awareness of consumer issues, which touch on the daily lives of all of us.
